Rant: Stop hiring like crazy then firing everyone later!

Seriously, I'm so tired of this tech industry cycle. Companies like Roblox hire like there's no tomorrow, throwing money at everything, and then a year or two later, BAM, massive layoffs. Where's the long-term planning? Where's the responsibility to the employees they convinced to join? I get that the market fluctuates, but the boom-and-bust cycle is so brutal and feels so pointless. I just started here a year ago in marketing and I'm constantly on edge now. If they weren't sure they needed this many people, why did they hire us in the first place?! It's infuriating and completely demoralizing.

Totally feel you. It's incredibly demoralizing to see a company act like they're invincible one minute and then start hacking away at the workforce the next. The lack of foresight is astounding, and it creates a toxic environment of constant anxiety. It's hard to focus on your work when you're wondering if you'll have a job next month.

Honestly, this is pretty standard tech stuff. Roblox grew like crazy during the pandemic, and now things are normalizing. It sucks if you're affected, but companies gotta do what they gotta do to stay afloat. Start polishing that resume and looking for other options *before* the hammer drops. Staying on edge isn't going to help you, being proactive will.
