Feeling the pressure—is the ship actually sinking?

Every time I open the dashboard lately, I feel a pit in my stomach. The rumors about another round of cuts aren't just rumors anymore; they’re feeling like an inevitability. We’ve seen the pattern before—the 'efficiency' talks, the tightening of the travel policy, and now the complete lack of transparency from the top. It feels like we are doing more work with half the resources while the leadership team talks about 'optimizing for the long term.' I’m tired of the corporate doublespeak. If they’re planning to let people go, just do it already so we can move on with our lives. The uncertainty is worse than the actual news. I’ve started brushing up my resume and hitting up former coworkers at other streamers, but the market is brutal out there. Half the people I talk to are in the same boat, just waiting for the calendar invite to appear on a Friday afternoon. Is anyone else actually seeing movement, or are we just feeding the anxiety loop by refreshing the internal directory to see who’s still 'active'? The transparency here has hit an all-time low and it’s honestly insulting.

The writing has been on the wall for a while now. We keep hearing about the 'long-term vision' while the day-to-day reality just gets grittier. It is impossible to ignore the morale drop when every meeting feels like a precursor to another layoff announcement. The lack of clear communication from leadership is the most frustrating part; we deserve to know if the strategy is actually working or if we are just burning through the remaining runway. It is exhausting to constantly look over your shoulder instead of focusing on the actual projects.
