Anyone else feeling the 'operational efficiency' squeeze at RPM?

Is it just me, or has the atmosphere shifted significantly over the last month? I’ve been with one of the subsidiaries for a few years now, and the recent communications from leadership feel like they are laying the groundwork for something. We keep hearing about 'margin expansion' and 'streamlining core processes' in every town hall. Usually, when that kind of corporate speak ramps up without any actual headcount growth, it’s a red flag. My manager has been acting increasingly cagey during 1:1s, and project approvals that used to breeze through are suddenly hitting massive roadblocks or getting put on 'indefinite hold.' I’m not seeing any official WARN notices or leaked memos, but the internal feeling is definitely heavy. Is anyone else noticing their specific department getting micro-managed or budgets suddenly tightening for Q3? Just trying to gauge if I should start updating the resume this weekend or if I’m just being paranoid.

I've noticed the exact same shift at my facility. The obsession with 'MAP 2025' and margin targets has completely changed the floor dynamic. It feels like every metric is being scrutinized under a microscope now, and there’s a persistent undertone of pressure to do more with less. My supervisor stopped being transparent months ago, and honestly, the uncertainty is worse than any direct news. It feels like we are all just waiting for the other shoe to drop while management talks in circles about efficiency gains.

That corporate speak is classic RPM playbook. When leadership starts hyper-focusing on margin expansion and streamlining, it is rarely good news for the people on the ground. I’ve seen this cycle before, and the cagey behavior from management is usually a tell that they’ve already received directives from the parent company that they aren’t allowed to share yet. Just keep your resume updated and stay quiet. In this environment, it is better to be prepared for a transition than caught off guard when the restructuring announcements finally hit the internal portal.
