Same here. The 'operational stability' line is just a lazy way to avoid admitting the budget is being pinched elsewhere. I’ve been watching the turnover rate in my department tick up every single week. When top talent starts polishing their resumes, it’s a clear signal that the writing is on the wall. Leadership is betting that people will stay out of convenience, but they’re severely underestimating how quickly people can jump ship when they feel undervalued. It’s hard to stay loyal when the rewards for performance simply vanish without any clear communication.
Honestly, stop waiting for an announcement that isn't coming. I had a quick chat with my manager last week, and they couldn't even look me in the eye when I brought up the lack of equity grants. If they aren't willing to invest in us, why should we keep burning ourselves out for their quarterly targets? I’ve already set up three interviews for next month. If they want to prioritize 'stability,' they should realize that keeping the best people is the only way to actually achieve that. I’m done hoping for a bonus that clearly isn't in the cards.
