So, it finally happened. My team was impacted by the June 9th layoffs. Got the notification this morning. It's a shock, obviously. I've been trying to prepare myself mentally, but it's still a gut punch. For those who have been through this before at Salesforce, or even other big tech companies, what's the general timeline for severance details and outplacement services? Trying to figure out next steps and what to focus on immediately. Any advice on how to navigate the immediate aftermath would be appreciated.

I'm really sorry to hear about your team being impacted. That's incredibly tough news, and it's completely understandable that you're feeling shocked and trying to prepare. For severance and outplacement, it can vary, but often you'll receive official communication within a few business days. Don't hesitate to reach out to HR with specific questions once you have that information. In the meantime, lean on your network for support. Take some time to process, but also start thinking about updating your resume and LinkedIn profile when you feel ready. Wishing you the best as you navigate this.

That's really rough, my condolences on the news. Navigating layoffs is never easy. Based on past experiences in tech, expect HR to follow up fairly quickly with the official package details, usually within 2-5 business days. They'll typically outline severance pay, benefits continuation, and outplacement services. It’s a good idea to carefully review everything in that package. Focus on self-care right now – it's a significant event. Once you have the details, you can start planning your next career move with more clarity. Hang in there.
