Offshoring vs. AI: What’s the real endgame here?

I’m honestly trying to wrap my head around the strategy here. We keep hearing the 'efficiency' spiel from leadership, but it feels like we are just trading quality for cheap labor in lower-cost regions. The RTO mandate in October was clearly just a way to force attrition before the actual layoffs hit on 8/7. It’s funny how they tell us we need to be in the office for 'collaboration' and 'culture,' then fire us via Zoom or email the second they need to trim the head count. I’ve spoken to a few folks who survived this round, and they are already burned out because they’re inheriting the workloads of three different people who just got let go. How long is this sustainable? I’m seeing so many talented people hitting the market at once, but the internal culture at Salesforce is completely dead. Is anyone actually still motivated to do anything besides polishing their resume on company time?

The reality is that leadership stopped caring about the actual product years ago. It’s all about meeting those quarterly margins to keep the stock price propped up for institutional investors. They treat the workforce like a ledger entry, and the office mandates are just psychological warfare to see who is desperate enough to stay. Once they hit their target headcount reductions, don't be surprised if they start pivoting toward even more aggressive cost-cutting measures. It’s never been about culture; it’s about control and squeezing every cent out of the operations before moving on to the next strategy shift.
