Another SAP layoff... what's the endgame?

Okay, so SAP announced another 3,000 job cuts. This isn't the first time, and I'm willing to bet it won't be the last. It's becoming a pattern. While the official reasons might mention cloud transformation or efficiency drives, it feels like more than that. Are they aggressively cutting costs to boost short-term financials? Are certain product lines or business units being de-prioritized significantly? For those of us still here, it's a nerve-wracking environment. Every email notification makes you jump. You start questioning your role, your team, and the long-term viability of your position. It's a shame because SAP has always been seen as a stable giant in the enterprise software world. This constant trimming makes it feel less and less like that. Curious to hear from others who are seeing this firsthand. What's the strategy here? What does SAP look like in 2-3 years if this continues?

It's definitely a worrying trend. The constant restructuring makes it hard to feel secure, and the focus on efficiency sometimes feels like it's at the expense of long-term innovation or employee morale. Hopefully, they have a clear vision beyond just cost-cutting that will eventually benefit the company and its remaining workforce.

The 'endgame' feels like a necessary, albeit painful, pivot towards a more cloud-centric future. Sacrificing established roles to invest in new tech and streamline operations is a tough but increasingly common strategy across the industry. It's understandable why people are nervous, but perhaps this is just the growing pains of adapting to the market.
