Is the 'SAP transformation' just a fancy exit strategy?

0x52c1…6a4fI’ve been watching the stock price and the news reports regarding the June 17th cuts, and I can't help but feel like we’re being fed a script. Every single internal town hall is filled with buzzwords about AI transformation and business process redesign, but the reality on the ground is just a brutal headcount reduction to keep the margins looking pretty for the next quarterly report.
I’m seeing so many talented developers and product owners get cut while the budget for 'external consultants' seems to stay untouched. It feels like we are outsourcing the innovation we should be doing ourselves. Is anyone else starting to feel like the 'SAP brand' is losing its edge? I look at some of the younger startups out there and the agility they have compared to our bloated, slow-moving approval processes, and it’s depressing. I want to believe the leadership team has a plan beyond just cutting staff, but when you see thousands of heads roll in a single cycle, it’s hard to trust the narrative. Are we just waiting for the next round, or is there an actual path forward that doesn't involve firing 10% of the company every time a new fiscal year starts? Thinking about jumping ship to a smaller player where I’m not just a line item on a spreadsheet.
