Wow, 3000 people. Just saw the news about the SAP layoffs happening on June 17th. I'm not sure what to say, really. I was completely blindsided. Didn't see this coming at all, and it's hitting pretty hard. I've seen the articles, but it doesn't feel real until it impacts people you know, or worse, yourself. The official reasoning seems to be related to the cloud transformation, but it feels like a massive undertaking that's come at a huge human cost. Just trying to wrap my head around the scale of it all. If you were affected, or even if you weren't but feel the ripple effect, what are your thoughts? Is this the beginning of more changes, or a one-off event?

It's a brutal shock when these things happen. The 'cloud transformation' buzzword gets thrown around a lot, but it's easy to forget the real people behind the numbers. Thirty-hundred jobs is a significant blow to so many individuals and families. It's understandable to feel blindsided, especially when the company narrative doesn't seem to align with the reality on the ground. Hopefully, those affected can find new opportunities quickly, though that doesn't diminish the pain of this sudden change.
