Post-Layoff Vibes at SAP: Is Anyone Else Scrambling?

So, it happened. The news dropped, 3000 people are out. Feels like a gut punch, even if you weren't directly impacted. Management's talking about 'streamlining' and 'efficiency' but honestly, the workload for those of us who are left feels… intense. Trying to pick up the pieces and keep projects moving is a challenge. Has anyone else noticed a significant uptick in their day-to-day tasks? Are teams being reorganized on the fly to cover gaps, or are we just expected to absorb it all? It’s hard to get a clear picture internally, everyone seems a bit shell-shocked. Trying to stay positive and focus on what I can control, but the uncertainty is definitely palpable. Anyone have any tips for managing the increased pressure, or insights into how leadership plans to address this long-term?

Totally feel this. The 'streamlining' talk never sits right when it means everyone else is suddenly drowning. My team is definitely picking up the slack, and it's a constant juggle. Communication has been… sparse, to say the least, about how the workload is supposed to be managed long-term. Just trying to stay afloat and keep things from completely derailing, but it's a daily grind.

Yeah, the atmosphere is pretty heavy right now. I've seen a few people moved around to 'cover critical areas,' which mostly translates to folks doing jobs they weren't hired for. The unspoken pressure to just 'get it done' is palpable. Hoping leadership has a real plan beyond just hoping we can all magically do more with less.
