SAP Cuts: More than just 'reorganization'?

Seeing the news about another 3,000 cuts is rough. The official line is always about 'reorganization' or 'strategic shifts,' but it feels like there's more to it. We've all seen the push towards cloud and newer tech, but does that really necessitate losing so many people? Feels like a convenient excuse to cut headcount and boost short-term numbers. Anyone else feel like their role became redundant overnight? Or is this just the inevitable march of progress? Wondering what this means for the folks who are left – increased workload? Less job security moving forward? Seems like a lot of uncertainty right now.

It's a tough pill to swallow, for sure. The 'reorganization' excuse is definitely wearing thin. While I get that technology evolves and companies need to adapt, the sheer scale of these layoffs is concerning. It makes you wonder about the long-term stability and whether current employees are truly valued or just cogs in a machine that can be easily replaced. Hoping everyone affected lands on their feet quickly.
