SAP's Restructuring After June 17th: What's the Real Story?

So, another wave of layoffs hit SAP on June 17th, reportedly around 3000 people. The official line is usually about 'restructuring' or 'strategic realignment,' but it's hard not to feel like there's more to it. I've been with SAP for a few years now, and while we've had reorganizations before, this one feels… different. The communication around it was pretty vague, even internally. Is this really about shifting focus to cloud solutions, as some news outlets are suggesting? Or is it a response to market pressures, maybe a way to cut costs quickly before the next earnings report? It's tough to see so many colleagues affected, and honestly, it makes you wonder about job security for those of us who remain. The workload seems to be redistributing quickly, and the pressure is definitely on. Curious to hear from others who might have more insight or have been directly impacted. What are your thoughts on the strategy behind these cuts?
