Yeah, I'm feeling it too. It's the same vague corporate speak that always precedes difficult decisions. They talk about efficiency and optimization, but what it usually means is headcount reduction. My team leader has been a bit cagey when asked about future projects, which isn't like them. Just trying to stay productive and hope for the best, but it's hard not to worry.
I've noticed the same subtle shifts. Performance reviews feel more like evaluations for cuts rather than development opportunities lately. The 'streamlining' talk is particularly concerning. I'm in a similar boat, a role that feels easily replaceable if they decide to make cuts. Trying to document my contributions and make myself indispensable, but the general atmosphere is pretty tense.
