Sempra - Unofficial 'pause' on major initiatives?

Been working on a few cross-functional projects lately, and it feels like everything is hitting the brakes. We're getting endless requests for 're-evaluation' and 'priority alignment,' but nothing seems to be moving forward. It's like projects that were greenlit a few months ago are suddenly in limbo. Budgets are being questioned more than ever, and even small spending requests are getting a second (and third) look. I haven't heard any official word about layoffs, but this slowdown feels like it's either a precursor to something, or just incredibly poor project management right now. Anyone else seeing their projects stalled or getting a lot more 'stickiness' from leadership on new proposals?

I'm hearing similar rumblings from my side of the business. Lots of 'strategic review' meetings lately, which usually translates to 'things are stalled.' It's definitely a frustrating environment when you're trying to execute on plans that were approved not too long ago. The increased scrutiny on budgets is palpable, making even routine approvals take ages. Hopefully, there's some clarity coming soon, because this uncertainty isn't helping morale or productivity.

Interesting to see this post, as I've been feeling the same drag. The 'priority alignment' language is especially suspect – often a euphemism for projects being shelved or significantly scaled back. It's tough to maintain momentum when the goalposts keep moving, or worse, disappear entirely. I'm trying to focus on what I can control, but it's hard not to worry when the overall pace feels like it's intentionally being throttled. Let's hope this is a temporary phase.
