Sempra - Unplanned 'strategy alignment' sessions taking up all our time

Is it just me or have the 'strategy alignment' meetings at Sempra become ridiculously frequent and mandatory for everyone? Seems like every other day there's a new 'all hands on deck' session to discuss 'synergies' and 'future direction'. The problem is, these sessions are taking up huge chunks of our working hours, and honestly, they feel a bit like buzzword bingo disguised as important company initiatives. It’s hard to get any actual work done when you’re constantly being pulled into these meetings. What's more concerning is that the content of these meetings often feels vague, focusing on 'streamlining operations' and 'enhancing value delivery'. It makes me wonder if this is just corporate jargon for cost-cutting or restructuring efforts. The lack of concrete action items coming out of these things is really starting to get to me. Anyone else feeling bogged down by these?

Seriously, it feels like the 'strategy alignment' sessions are the actual job now. I'm drowning in acronyms and 'deep dives' while my actual project deliverables are gathering dust. They keep talking about efficiency, but how efficient is it to spend 8 hours a week in meetings about meetings? Pretty sure my calendar is 70% meetings, 20% preparing for meetings, and 10% actual work. Anyone else feel like they're just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic?

I've noticed it too. It's gotten to the point where I schedule my actual work during the 'unscheduled' times. The constant stream of mandatory sessions, each with its own set of consultants or facilitators, is exhausting. While I appreciate the need for direction, this feels excessive. It's like they're trying to inject purpose by sheer meeting volume, rather than clear communication and trust in our ability to execute. Hope this changes soon.
