Anyone else feeling the Q3 budget freeze?

Is it just me, or has the atmosphere at the home office shifted lately? I’ve noticed a massive uptick in 'streamlining' discussions during our weekly syncs, and the travel budget has basically evaporated overnight. It feels like every department is being asked to do more with less, but management keeps pushing the narrative that we’re just 'optimizing for efficiency.' I’ve been through a couple of cycles here, and this feels like the quiet stage before the actual storm. Are you guys seeing the same headcount freezes in your segments, or is my division just being singled out? Seems like every meeting ends with a vague warning about 'market headwinds.' Just trying to figure out if I should start polishing the resume now or if I’m just being paranoid.

It’s definitely not just you. The 'streamlining' language is corporate speak for cutting costs while keeping the pressure on the ground at an all-time high. I’ve noticed the same shift in my department—projects that were greenlit last month are suddenly under review, and the travel restrictions are just the beginning. It feels like everyone is holding their breath waiting for the next round of layoffs or restructuring announcements. Keep your head down and start backing up your work documents while you still have access to the servers.
