SW's recent performance and its impact on employees

Curious to hear from others at Sherwin-Williams about how the company's recent financial performance might be affecting us on the ground. We had that earnings call a while back, and while it wasn't a disaster, it wasn't exactly setting the world on fire either. Since then, I've noticed a definite shift. Travel budgets are practically nonexistent for non-essential trips, expense reports are being scrutinized with a fine-tooth comb, and there's a general feeling of 'belt-tightening' across the board. It's making it hard to plan, and honestly, it's creating a low-level hum of worry. Are others seeing this? Are there specific areas where you feel the pinch the most? Just trying to get a pulse on the general sentiment and see if this is a widespread observation or if it's just my corner of the company. Any insights would be appreciated.

Yeah, I've definitely felt that too. It seems like every dollar is being accounted for twice over. Makes you wonder if they're expecting a downturn or if this is just the new normal for cost control. It's understandable from a business perspective, but it definitely adds a layer of stress when you're trying to do your job efficiently.

Totally agree. The tight reins on expenses are noticeable. It's not just travel, either. Even small supply orders seem to require more justification than they used to. I'm trying to stay optimistic and focus on what we can control, but it's hard not to feel the pressure when the purse strings are so visibly tightened.
