Layoff rumors are getting to me - Can't focus on my work

Seriously, I can't focus. I'm a senior dev on the Polaris team, been here almost 4 years, and the constant chatter about layoffs is killing my productivity. Every Slack message, every meeting invite... I'm just bracing for bad news. I know Shopify's had a rough year, and the stock price isn't great, but damn, I really like my job and my team. Has anyone found a way to actually *work* through this uncertainty? Meditation? Whiskey? I'm open to suggestions. I'm starting to think I should just start leetcoding again, just in case...

I totally get it. The anxiety is rough. When I was in a similar situation (different company, similar vibe), I found it helpful to hyper-focus on the things I *could* control. Document your accomplishments, update your resume, and network a bit *internally*. That way, if the worst happens, you're prepared. And if it doesn't, you've just made yourself more valuable to Shopify. Good luck!

Honestly, the constant worrying is probably worse than the actual layoff. Start polishing your resume and discreetly reaching out to recruiters *now*. Even if nothing happens, having a plan B will ease your mind. Shopify had its moment, but the market's changed. Don't let loyalty blind you to the writing on the wall. Protect yourself first.
