SPG - Anyone else seeing their project budgets get slashed?

Just wanted to see if I'm alone here. For the past few months, it feels like every new initiative or project I propose is getting shot down or significantly downsized due to 'budgetary constraints'. Even existing projects have had their scope reduced mid-cycle. It's making it hard to get work done and honestly, it's pretty demoralizing. I've heard rumors about a general belt-tightening across the board, but nothing official from leadership. Is this just a seasonal thing, or are we bracing for something bigger? My team's morale is definitely taking a hit, and it's tough to stay motivated when you feel like the resources you need are just disappearing. Curious to hear if others are experiencing this, and what the general sentiment is within SPG right now.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed something similar. Seems like approvals are taking way longer than usual, and even when they do get greenlit, the funding is considerably less than what was originally requested. Makes you wonder what's happening behind the scenes. Could be a broader economic slowdown impacting investment, or maybe internal restructuring is causing the hold-up. It's definitely a challenge trying to execute plans when resources are so tight. Hopefully, it's a temporary phase.

I'm in a different department, but the whispers are there too. It feels like a significant shift from how things were even a year ago. Project scopes are being trimmed, and new ideas are facing a much higher bar for approval. My team's been told to prioritize 'essential' maintenance over any 'enhancements,' which is a bit disheartening.
