I’m honestly still reeling. I sat through the all-hands thinking we were finally in the clear after the last few rounds of restructuring, but then the calendar invite showed up at 9 AM sharp. No warning, no 'performance' talk, just a sudden loss of access to Slack and email. It feels like every six months, the rug gets pulled out from under us again. I’ve put so much effort into my team's roadmap, and seeing it all get nuked in an instant is just soul-crushing. At this point, I don’t even know if I should be updating my resume or if I should just take a long break from tech entirely. Is anyone else feeling like the 'strategic shift' narrative is just code for 'we have no long-term plan'? I feel for everyone else who got the axe today. Same boat here. At this point, the 'all-hands' meetings are just a hollow ritual before the inevitable cuts. It is beyond frustrating to watch talented people get discarded overnight without even a conversation. I think we all knew the environment was volatile, but the sheer coldness of losing access before you can even say goodbye to your teammates is a new low. Don't look back at the project files or the metrics—they don't matter anymore. Use the severance to disappear for a while and recharge. This place will keep spinning, but you need to prioritize your own peace.
