I've heard through the grapevine that some teams are quietly being told to 'trim the fat,' which, let's be honest, is corporate speak for layoffs. Just trying to be proactive here. Anyone have any recent interview experience they can share, particularly for engineering roles? Any specific technologies or frameworks that seem to be hot right now? Any tips on how to answer the 'why Snap?' question when...well, things might be rocky? And does anyone know recruiters who specifically work with ex-Snap employees if (god forbid) a layoff actually happens?

Honestly, 'trim the fat' is never a good sign. Sharpen up your LeetCode, focus on system design, and tailor your resume to each job. When they ask 'why Snap?', talk about the specific impact you had and how those skills translate to the new role. Recruiters are your best bet; LinkedIn is your friend. Good luck!

Don't panic just yet. Layoffs are cyclical. But being prepared is smart. I'd brush up on React/Typescript – lots of front-end roles seem to want that. As for 'why Snap?' Just be honest, say you enjoyed the fast-paced environment and learned a lot, but are now looking for new challenges. Recruiters specializing in the tech industry generally are helpful, not just ex-Snap focused.
