Severance package - what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if Snap *were* to do another round of layoffs, what's the typical severance package like? I've heard rumors ranging from 2 weeks per year of service to something more generous. Does anyone have first-hand experience from previous layoffs? I'm trying to get a realistic picture, just in case. Trying to budget and figure out how long I could survive if the worst happens. Any insight is appreciated!

Honestly, it's a tough situation, and rumors are just that. From what I've gathered (through friends, not direct experience at Snap), 2 weeks per year of service seems to be the absolute minimum these days. You should also factor in any accrued PTO payout and benefits continuation (usually COBRA, but Snap might offer something better). The best advice is to start building an emergency fund *now*. Even small amounts each month make a difference. Polish up that resume, too. Being proactive will give you peace of mind regardless of what happens.

I wouldn't count on anything too generous. Companies are tightening their belts everywhere. While some big tech companies have offered cushier packages in the past, that's definitely not a guarantee. Focus on what you *can* control: cutting unnecessary expenses, aggressively paying down debt, and networking like crazy. Assume the bare minimum (2 weeks per year plus accrued vacation) when budgeting, and anything more is a bonus. Don't let rumors distract you from practical planning. You'll sleep better at night, trust me.
