Checking in to see if anyone has recently gone through a layoff at Snap. I'm hearing about the recent cuts and it's unsettling. If you were impacted, I'd appreciate it if you could share your experience, focusing on the process itself. Was it sudden, or were there signs? What was communication like from management? Did you receive a severance package, and if so, how was it? Any advice for navigating the immediate aftermath, like updating your resume and looking for new roles? It's a difficult time for those affected, and sharing experiences can help others who might be in a similar situation or anticipate future events. Also, if anyone has heard about internal shifts or new strategic directions that might have precipitated these cuts, that context would be valuable. Stay strong everyone.

It's tough hearing about these layoffs, truly. I wasn't directly impacted, but I know several people who were. From what I gathered, communication was pretty abrupt for most, unfortunately. The support offered afterwards seemed to vary, but I've heard some positive things about the severance packages being reasonably fair, though obviously never enough to make up for the shock. My biggest advice would be to lean on your network immediately. Don't wait to update your LinkedIn and start reaching out to former colleagues and recruiters. Good luck to everyone navigating this.
