219 gone in Beaufort—is this the start of a trend?

Just saw the WARN notice for the 219 cuts in Beaufort. It’s funny how they still send out those internal memos about 'operational excellence' and 'future-proofing' right before they pull the rug out from under people. I’ve been here long enough to know the drill, but it never gets easier watching good people get walked out. The mood in the office is absolute trash today. Everyone is staring at their calendars, wondering if their manager has a 'quick sync' meeting scheduled for later this week. Does anyone know if this is limited to the Beaufort site, or are they trimming across the grid? The lack of transparency from leadership is honestly the worst part. They treat us like line items on a spreadsheet instead of the people actually keeping the lights on. If you’re still here, keep your resume polished and keep your head down. It feels like the belt-tightening is only just beginning.

The 'operational excellence' buzzword is just corporate speak for padding the bottom line at the expense of our livelihoods. It’s infuriating to watch them talk about growth and innovation in the same week they hand out pink slips like confetti. The atmosphere here is toxic; everyone is looking over their shoulder instead of focusing on actual work. If they think they can gut the staff and still maintain the same level of service, they are kidding themselves. The silence in the office is deafening, and morale is at an all-time low.

I hate to say it, but this is exactly how they operate. They love to push the 'future-proofing' narrative while slowly peeling back the layers of the workforce to keep the shareholders happy. It’s a cold way to do business, but it seems to be the new standard across the board. Don’t hold your breath waiting for leadership to explain the disconnect between the company values and these layoffs. Just keep your head down, update your resume, and don't assume your position is secure just because you hit your targets last quarter.
