Southern Company: Anyone else getting the 'doing more with less' vibe?

Lately, it feels like the company line is all about efficiency and 'doing more with less.' On paper, that sounds great, but in practice, it's translating to a lot more work for the same, or even fewer, people. I've seen some roles eliminated or combined, and the remaining folks are often absorbing those duties without additional support or compensation. It's starting to feel like there's a quiet restructuring happening, or maybe just a push for maximum productivity without a corresponding investment in headcount. Anyone else seeing this? Is this a company-wide push, or specific to certain divisions? Just trying to get a sense of the broader organizational health and whether this is something to be concerned about long-term, or just a cyclical business challenge. The lack of clear communication on these shifts is what's most unsettling.

I'm definitely feeling that too. The 'doing more with less' talk has been constant, and it's hard to ignore the impact it's having on workloads. It feels like the expectation is just to somehow magically absorb extra tasks without complaint. Honestly, it's starting to wear thin and makes me wonder about the long-term sustainability of this approach for employee well-being and retention.

Yeah, the 'efficiency' push is noticeable. While I understand the need to be competitive, the way it's being implemented feels like it's primarily benefiting the bottom line at the expense of the people doing the actual work. There's a real disconnect between the corporate messaging and the daily reality for many of us. It's a tough environment to navigate right now.
