Southern Company: Feeling the heat – is it just me or is workload increasing dramatically?

Seriously, is anyone else at Southern Company drowning right now? It feels like the workload has gone through the roof in the last six months. We're constantly being asked to take on new projects, expand our responsibilities, and 'innovate,' but there's absolutely no indication of any new headcount or even backfilling people who have left. The pressure to deliver the same, if not more, with fewer resources is palpable. It’s making it really hard to maintain quality and honestly, just sanity. I'm starting to wonder if this is a deliberate strategy to see who can cope, or if something bigger is brewing behind the scenes. Anyone else feeling this way or have any insight?

I hear you loud and clear. The 'do more with less' mantra is definitely getting old. It feels like we're stretched so thin, and the constant push for 'innovation' without the proper support or resources is just setting us up for burnout. Remember when we used to have time to actually *think* about things instead of just reacting? Feels like a distant memory. Hope things ease up for you soon.

It's not just you at all. The pressure is definitely mounting. I've seen more people looking completely overwhelmed lately. It's tough when you're trying to do good work and meet expectations, but you're constantly battling against resource constraints and an ever-growing to-do list. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan is if this pace continues.
