Southern Company: Significant workload increases across departments?

Hey all, has anyone else at Southern Company noticed a pretty dramatic increase in workload over the past few months? It feels like projects are piling up, deadlines are getting tighter, and resources seem stretched thinner than ever. I'm not seeing any official announcements or anything, but the atmosphere feels...tense. People are working longer hours, and there's a definite undercurrent of stress. My team has taken on responsibilities that were previously handled by another department that seems to have shrunk significantly, though again, no official word. It's making me wonder if this is a widespread thing or if I'm just in a particularly overwhelmed department. Are others feeling this pressure? Is this the new normal, or is something else going on behind the scenes? Trying to gauge if this is a temporary crunch or something more systemic. Curious to hear if others are experiencing similar situations.

I've definitely felt the crunch. It seems like the expectation is to do more with less, and it's really starting to show. Deadlines feel unrealistic given the current team sizes, and there's a general feeling of being overwhelmed. It's hard to pinpoint the exact cause, but the strain is palpable across several teams I interact with. Hopefully, management addresses this before burnout becomes widespread.

Interesting you bring this up. My department has also seen a significant ramp-up in demands. We're juggling multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously, and it's impacting quality and timelines. Communication about workload distribution seems to be lacking, leading to confusion and frustration. I'm wondering if this is a company-wide trend or specific to certain divisions. It's definitely a challenging time to be here.
