Considering my options given the Splunk/Cisco situation

Lately, I've been spending more time on LinkedIn and job boards than I'd like to admit. The Splunk acquisition by Cisco has been hanging over us, and while there haven't been any official announcements about layoffs, the rumour mill is in overdrive. You see stuff online about other companies making cuts, and it's hard not to extrapolate that to our situation. My manager is being tight-lipped, and leadership is giving the usual 'business as usual' talk, but the energy feels different. It's creating a lot of anxiety, and frankly, I'm starting to think it's prudent to have a backup plan. Is anyone else actively looking or just generally preparing for potential changes? Feels like a good time to refresh the resume.

Totally understand the anxiety. It's a tough spot to be in when big changes are happening and information is scarce. That uncertainty is the worst. Hopefully, leadership will provide more clarity soon, or at least some direction on how things might evolve. Keep your resume updated and explore what else is out there, just to be prepared. It's smart to have options on the table, regardless of what happens.
