Is the integration with Cisco actually finished?

Been hearing a lot of chatter lately about 'synergy' and 'role alignment' coming from the higher-ups in my org. We all know what that corporate speak usually translates to once the ink is dry on an acquisition. Even though there haven't been any official announcements since the initial waves, my team has seen two senior architects jump ship in the last three weeks alone. They didn't have new roles lined up, which is what really spooks me. It feels like they saw the writing on the wall before the rest of us. Are you guys seeing more contractors being offboarded or is it just my department? I’ve been trying to keep my head down and hit my OKRs, but it’s hard to focus when every recurring meeting feels like a potential HR update session. If anyone has intel on whether we’re expecting another round of 'restructuring' before the end of the fiscal year, I’d appreciate the heads-up. I’d rather update my resume now than be blindsided in December.

Honestly, the integration has felt like a slow-motion car crash for months. When leadership starts throwing around buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'role alignment,' it’s a massive red flag. The fact that your senior architects left without landing new jobs says everything you need to know about the internal culture right now. They clearly saw the direction things are heading and decided that being unemployed was a better alternative than waiting for the next round of restructuring. Keep your resume polished because that exodus is usually just the beginning of a wider talent bleed.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an 'official' announcement about the integration being finished. In my experience, these massive tech acquisitions just devolve into a permanent state of limbo where roadmaps get scrapped and projects die in committee. The brain drain you're seeing is standard procedure once the morale bottoms out. If the people who built the architecture are jumping ship without a safety net, they know something that isn't on the company wiki yet. Trust your gut—start looking elsewhere before the consolidation phase hits your department.
