Splunk's been around for a while and is pretty well-established in the security and observability space. They definitely went through some restructuring a year or two ago, but I haven't heard anything recently about major layoffs. That said, no company is truly layoff-proof. If the money is significantly better and the work is more engaging, it might be worth the risk, especially as a senior consultant. Just make sure you have a solid emergency fund in case things don't work out.
Recruiters are paid to say everything is rosy! Do some digging beyond just Glassdoor. Check LinkedIn for recent ex-Splunk employees and see if you can discreetly reach out for their perspective. Also, try to gauge the overall morale and workload during the interview process itself. Ask direct questions about team stability and growth opportunities. A stable, but boring job has value, especially in this climate; make sure the jump is *really* worth it.
