Anyone else seeing strange things at SBD Industrials lately?

Hey all, been with SBD Industrials for a few years now, mostly at the corporate level. Lately, things have felt... off. Not outright layoffs or anything officially announced, but there's a definite shift in the air. Projects are getting paused or significantly scaled back, hiring freezes seem to be in effect for roles outside of critical areas, and there's been a lot of 're-evaluating priorities' in meetings. My manager is being pretty tight-lipped, just saying we need to 'focus on core competencies'. Anyone else in the industrial side picking up on this? Is it just my department, or is there a broader wind blowing through the company that management isn't talking about openly yet? Wondering if I should start updating the resume just in case, or if this is a temporary belt-tightening. Curious to hear what others are experiencing.

Yeah, I've been hearing similar rumblings from colleagues in different divisions. It's definitely unsettling when there's no clear communication. The 're-evaluating priorities' talk feels like a euphemism for something more substantial. Hopefully, it's just a strategic realignment and not a sign of deeper issues. Keep your ears to the ground, and good luck navigating it.

I'm not in Industrials specifically, but the talk about scaled-back projects and hiring freezes is consistent with what I'm sensing across other parts of SBD. It feels like the company is tightening its belt, perhaps in anticipation of economic headwinds or a major restructuring. The lack of transparency is frustrating for everyone trying to plan their next steps. Hope things clarify soon.
