SBD Industrial - Management silent, but team morale is dropping

Been working in one of the manufacturing plants for SBD Industrials for about 5 years. We haven't had any official word on layoffs, but you can feel the tension. Overtime hours have been cut back significantly in some departments, and there's been a lot of talk about 'efficiency improvements' which usually translates to fewer people doing more work. A few people in management have been let go quietly over the past few months, not announced, just suddenly gone. It’s creating a lot of anxiety. People are whispering, trying to figure out what's really going on. Feels like we're being kept in the dark and it’s really starting to affect morale. Hard to stay motivated when you don't know if your job is secure next quarter. Anyone else in the plants experiencing this? Any insights from HQ or other divisions?

This sounds incredibly stressful. It's tough when the company's direction feels uncertain, and rumors start to fly. The lack of clear communication from leadership, combined with tangible changes like reduced overtime and quiet departures, must be making it hard to stay focused and motivated. Hopefully, management will address the concerns soon to ease some of that anxiety. It's understandable why morale would be impacted in such a situation.

I've seen this kind of 'efficiency improvement' play out before, and it rarely ends well for the rank-and-file. The silence from above is deafening, and it breeds a lot of speculation and worry. When people see management changes without explanation and resources are tightened, it's a clear sign something's up. Hoping for some transparency from SBD soon, because a worried workforce isn't a productive one.
