It is definitely happening across the board. I’ve seen multiple tenured colleagues get hit with sudden PIPs after years of solid work. The 'top-grading' narrative is just a convenient mask for cost-cutting measures driven by the leadership’s recent obsession with margin expansion. The transparency is non-existent, and it feels like they’re trying to force voluntary exits before the next round of official layoffs. It is best to keep your head down, document everything, and start polishing the resume quietly because the culture shift is real and it isn’t in our favor.
I honestly think the silence in the breakroom says it all. Nobody trusts the process anymore because the goalposts have clearly shifted. It’s no longer about whether you meet your targets; it’s about whether you’re expendable in their current model. I’ve been tracking the internal chatter and the consensus is that this isn't just a standard annual review cycle—it’s a calculated culling disguised as performance management. If you feel like a target, it’s probably because you are. Don't take it personally, it’s just cold corporate math at this point.
