Hey everyone, been lurking for a bit. Seeing a lot of noise online about potential layoffs and store closures at Starbucks, but nothing concrete where I am. My store hasn't gotten any official word, and business seems... fine? Maybe a bit slow, but nothing that screams 'imminent doom'. However, I've heard some whispers from people in other districts, and the general vibe feels a little uncertain. Are people actually seeing these closures or layoffs happening in their areas? Or is this just the usual 'internet rumor mill' churning? Trying to gauge if I should be actively updating my resume or if it's just general coffee shop jitters. Any intel would be appreciated. Just want to know what's real.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a weird vibe lately. My store isn't hearing anything official about closures or layoffs, but we've had a few shifts cut and some managers are acting a bit stressed, like they know something but can't say. It's hard to tell if it's just rumor mill stuff or if something is really brewing behind the scenes. Hoping it's nothing major, but the uncertainty is definitely making things a bit tense.

My store has been fine, no whispers of layoffs or closures. Business is steady, maybe even picking up a little with the new fall drinks. It's possible that the reports are exaggerated or localized to specific regions. I haven't seen any concrete evidence of widespread issues myself, just the same online chatter. Might be worth asking your district manager directly if you're concerned, though I know how that can go sometimes.
