Just to provide a data point for those tracking the numbers: confirmed with my skip-level that the bulk of the 350 employees let go yesterday were from the corporate side here in Seattle. My team lost two people—one senior analyst and a project lead who had been here for six years. HR was extremely tight-lipped, just gave them the standard packet and escorted them out by noon. It feels like they are clearing out middle management to balance the books after the last few quarters of misses. If you haven't heard anything yet, consider yourself lucky, but I’d start looking at the internal boards today if I were you. The mood is absolutely miserable. It’s wild that they expect us to hit the Q4 targets while half the departments are scrambling to figure out who is picking up the slack. Stay safe out there.

This is absolutely brutal to read. Losing people who have been there for six years, especially in those specific roles, says a lot about where the company is headed. It sounds like they are gutting the institutional knowledge just to make the quarterly numbers look prettier for Wall Street. When you start clearing out mid-level staff that aggressively, the remaining employees are going to face massive burnout as the workload gets dumped on them. My heart goes out to your teammates; being escorted out by noon like that is just cold and disrespectful.

Honestly, I’m not surprised. The writing has been on the wall for a while now with how the stock has been performing. Every big corporation goes through these cycles of 'optimizing,' but it never feels like a long-term solution. They’re likely just trimming the fat to appease shareholders before the next earnings call. It’s definitely a bad environment to be in right now, and I’d be keeping my resume polished if I were still sitting in that office. Hope everyone affected lands on their feet quickly.
