It is the same story every quarter. Corporate loves to throw around buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'resilience' while the actual floor operations are crumbling. They treat us like line items on a spreadsheet rather than human beings running a business. My shift supervisor has practically given up on trying to motivate anyone because we all know the labor cuts aren't coming back. The disconnect between the boardroom and the lobby has never felt wider, and it is honestly exhausting to watch everyone burn out while they talk about mission and values.
I hear you, but honestly, I stopped paying attention to the corporate emails months ago. I show up, make the drinks, and do my best for my coworkers who are actually in the trenches with me. Focusing on the 'big picture' messaging just leads to burnout. If the company wants to fix morale, they need to stop looking at metrics for one week and actually look at the staffing levels during peak hours. Until the labor issue is addressed, all those culture decks are just noise meant to distract us from the reality of the daily grind.
