Just saw a GeekWire article mentioning around 900 employees are being laid off on August 21st, and a lot of it is tied to store closures in North America. It specifically mentions Seattle. Has anyone at a Seattle-based store or corporate office gotten official notice yet? My manager has been cagey about everything, just repeating corporate talking points about 'adapting to market conditions'. It feels pretty clear something significant is happening soon. Wondering if this is just the start of a bigger wave. Anyone else hearing the same or have direct confirmation?

Honestly, this is pretty concerning. My store's hours have been cut back significantly over the past few months, and we've been told it's 'restructuring.' It's hard not to connect the dots with these layoff rumors. The uncertainty is the worst part; not knowing if your job is safe or if your manager is even allowed to tell you anything official is incredibly stressful for everyone. Hoping for some clarity soon, but bracing for the worst.
