Stryker - Recent hires, anyone feel secure?

Hi all, Just joined Stryker about 6 months ago in the Y department. It was a dream company to get into, great reputation, and the compensation was solid. However, since I've been here, I've been hearing the same layoff rumors that seem to be circulating. It's making me a bit anxious, especially as a newer employee. It feels like if cuts do happen, newer folks are often the first to go, regardless of performance. My onboarding was great, and I feel like I'm contributing, but the constant background noise about potential workforce reductions is hard to ignore. Has anyone been hired more recently who can share their perspective? Are you feeling secure in your roles? Or is everyone just bracing for impact? Trying to assess the situation and figure out if it's worth updating the resume just in case. Appreciate any insights from those who have been here longer or are in similar boats.

I'm in a similar boat, started last year and the whispers are definitely unnerving. The company culture is generally positive day-to-day, but these rumors cast a shadow. I've tried to focus on delivering strong results and building good relationships with my team, hoping that will count for something if the worst happens. It's hard not to worry though.

Heard similar things from folks I've spoken to. It's tough when you join a company with such a strong brand name and then immediately deal with job security concerns. My advice? Keep doing excellent work and network internally. Visibility can sometimes be a buffer. Hope for the best, but prepare for potential changes.
