Not hearing much about new hires starting, and some departments seem to have put a pause on backfilling positions. I've also noticed a slight uptick in people talking about 'optimization' and 'efficiency' during team meetings, which usually sets off my internal alarm bells. Has anyone else picked up on this? Any internal comms or even subtle shifts in project allocation that might suggest something is brewing? I'm not trying to spread panic, but it feels like there's a general quietness that wasn't there a few months ago. I've heard similar chatter. It's hard to say for sure if it's a full freeze or just a slowdown in specific areas. The 'optimization' talk definitely feels like a precursor to something.
