Synopsys: Anyone else seeing hiring freeze whispers?

Hey all, been with Synopsys for a few years now in [your department/general area, e.g., engineering/R&D]. Lately, the vibe has been a bit off. Heard some rumblings about a potential hiring freeze, especially for non-critical roles. Management's been pretty tight-lipped, which isn't unusual, but the silence feels heavier this time. My team lead alluded to some "budgetary adjustments" during our last 1:1, but wouldn't elaborate. Anyone else picking up on similar signals? Trying not to panic, but the lack of transparency is getting to me. Curious if anyone has actual intel or has experienced something similar at other companies during economic uncertainty.

I haven't heard specific 'hiring freeze' talk, but there's definitely a cautious mood across the board. Projects seem to be getting scrutinized more heavily before approval, and new initiatives aren't being announced with the usual fanfare. Promotions also seem to be on hold for many. It feels like the company is taking a 'wait and see' approach to the broader economic climate, so it's understandable why there might be whispers. Management always prioritizes stability, especially during uncertain times.

Yeah, the budget talk is definitely circulating. My manager mentioned a slowdown in external requisitions and a tighter grip on headcount for non-essential positions. It's not outright panic territory, but there's a definite sense of belt-tightening. We're focusing on retaining our current talent and ensuring everyone's workload is manageable without immediately looking to backfill every departure. Hopefully, it's just a temporary recalibration.
