Synopsys: Performance reviews feeling extra critical lately?

Just finished my annual performance review and it felt... different. More emphasis on metrics that seem a bit arbitrary, and the feedback was definitely more critical than usual. Normally, it's a constructive discussion, but this year felt like they were really digging for reasons. There's been no official word about layoffs or anything drastic, but this increased scrutiny has me wondering if they're starting to quietly trim the bottom performers. Anyone else in a similar boat with their reviews this year? Feels like a lot of pressure to justify your existence lately. Trying to stay positive and focus on my work, but the underlying tension is hard to ignore.
