Performance metrics are becoming unrealistic

Is it just me, or have the KPIs for sales and logistics been ratcheted up to impossible levels recently? It feels like they are setting us up to fail so they have an excuse to trim the fat without having to pay out decent severance. I’m seeing quotas that are physically impossible to hit given the current supply chain constraints and inventory issues we’ve been dealing with for months. It feels like they want us to quit on our own so they don’t have to deal with the optics of a public layoff event. I’m exhausted. The constant threat of being put on a PIP just for missing a target by a fraction is draining the life out of everyone on my floor. Is everyone else seeing this, or is my specific branch just having a meltdown? Seriously considering jumping ship to a smaller competitor before the axe actually falls.

I’ve been seeing the exact same thing on my route. They keep piling on these unreachable metrics while the inventory levels are a total disaster. It’s definitely a strategic move to squeeze everyone out before the next quarter hits. It is not just you; the frustration is widespread across the floor and the drivers are feeling the exact same pressure. They know exactly what they are doing, and it’s clearly designed to make people walk away voluntarily rather than dealing with the fallout of actual layoffs.

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while now. They have pushed the KPIs to a breaking point to justify clearing house without the costs associated with a proper restructuring plan. It is incredibly demoralizing to work your tail off only to be set up for failure by management. If you feel like they’re pushing you out, it is because they likely are. Just document everything and don't let their arbitrary numbers affect your mental health too much. We all know how this game is played.
