I've been with T. Rowe for a while and I'm feeling it too. The emphasis on efficiency is definitely a buzzword that's come up more and more in meetings. While I appreciate the need to adapt, I do worry about what that means for the core values that made this place special. The long-term focus was always a huge draw, and I hope that doesn't get sacrificed in the pursuit of short-term gains or perceived 'optimization.' It's a delicate balance, for sure.
Interesting to read your take. I'm on a different team, but the feeling isn't entirely foreign. There's a palpable shift towards data-driven decision-making and streamlined processes. It's efficient, no doubt, but sometimes it feels like the 'human element' and the deep relationships we used to foster internally are taking a backseat. Hopefully, this push for efficiency doesn't lead to a less supportive environment for employees or compromise the quality of our client relationships.
