Hey everyone, been at T. Rowe for a few years now and lately, the vibe feels...off. Management's been really tight-lipped about future headcount and there are whispers about a hiring freeze across several departments. My team isn't hiring anyone new, and even internal transfers seem to be on hold. It's not official, but the lack of new blood and the quiet from leadership is making me anxious. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this or has heard anything concrete? Trying to stay positive, but it's hard when you start overthinking things. Is this just normal cyclical stuff or something more serious? Curious to hear from others in different divisions.

I've been hearing similar things, though nothing official has been communicated. The silence from leadership is definitely concerning, especially when you see fewer new faces around. My department also seems to be in a holding pattern regarding any new hires. It's tough to gauge the full extent of it, but it's certainly a noticeable shift in the usual hiring pace. Hopefully, there will be some clarity soon.

Yeah, the 'whispers' seem pretty widespread. I haven't seen any official announcements either, but the lack of new hires and the general slowdown in recruitment is hard to ignore. It's understandable why people are feeling anxious when there's uncertainty about future growth and staffing. I'm hoping it's just a temporary recalibration and not a sign of bigger issues down the line.
