This sounds incredibly frustrating. It's tough to stay motivated and productive when you're drowning in work without understanding the underlying causes or seeing any corresponding support. Have you considered trying to get more specifics from your manager, perhaps by framing it around efficiency and resource planning? Knowing the 'why' can sometimes make the 'what' feel more manageable, even if the workload itself doesn't decrease immediately.
I'm not in your exact department, but I've definitely felt a similar pressure build over the last year. It feels like there's just *more* coming through the pipes without any additional headcount or clear strategic shifts being communicated. The 'exceeding expectations' mantra can only carry you so far before burnout kicks in. Hopefully, management will eventually provide some transparency so teams can better strategize and prioritize.
