Teradyne - Rumblings about hiring freeze?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Teradyne, joined about 6 months ago in engineering. I've been trying to get some clarity on our team's roadmap for the next couple of quarters, and it's been met with a lot of vagueness. What's really got me wondering is the sudden halt on all external job postings that were supposedly active. My recruiter contact went dark, and the internal HR portal seems to have purged most of the open roles. Plus, we had a few planned new hires who were supposed to start this month, and their start dates have been indefinitely postponed with no real explanation. Management's official line is 'resource optimization,' but it feels like a soft hiring freeze to me. Anyone else in other departments noticing this? Is this a standard Teradyne move during market uncertainty, or are we heading into something more serious?

I've been hearing similar whispers internally. The lack of clear communication about upcoming projects is definitely unsettling, especially when combined with the sudden disappearance of external job postings. My own team's planned headcount additions seem to have been put on indefinite hold. It's creating a lot of uncertainty, and frankly, making it hard to plan long-term. Hopefully, management will provide some transparency soon.

This sounds like a classic sign of belt-tightening. When companies get cautious about the economic outlook, they often freeze hiring and scale back on new initiatives. The vagueness around the roadmap and the disappearing job ads are classic indicators. It doesn't necessarily mean doom and gloom, but it does suggest a period of slower growth or strategic recalibration. Worth keeping an eye on industry trends.
