Anyone else bracing for the next round of 'synergy' adjustments?

So the Princeton news is out—113 heads gone. It’s hard not to feel like we’re just watching the slow-motion collapse of that aggressive M&A growth strategy we’ve been hearing about for years. I’ve been with TMO for over four years and the culture has shifted from 'growth and innovation' to 'trim the fat at all costs' almost overnight. Every town hall feels like a script where they dance around the fact that the post-pandemic sugar high is officially over. Is it just me, or does it feel like this is just the beginning of the austerity measures? I’m hearing rumors that the headcount reduction isn't going to stop at New Jersey. If you’re in a support role or anything that doesn't directly touch the P&L, stay ready. It’s getting real quiet in the office, and the 'we are a family' rhetoric is feeling more insulting by the day.

It is exhausting to watch. The leadership keeps talking about 'operational efficiency' while the actual experts who built this place are packing their desks. When I started, there was a real sense of mission, but now it’s just quarterly spreadsheets and fear. Every announcement feels like a gut punch, and honestly, the talent drain is becoming impossible to ignore. They’re burning through human capital to keep the stock price propped up, but they aren't replacing that lost expertise, which is going to bite them hard in the long run.

You aren't imagining it. The 'synergy' buzzword has become the corporate equivalent of a pink slip. It’s a classic case of growing too fast through acquisitions and then realizing you don’t know how to integrate anything without gutting the teams. The post-pandemic reality check is hitting everyone, but TMO is handling it with zero transparency. It’s hard to stay motivated when you know you’re just a line item they’re looking to trim. I’m already polishing my resume—the writing is clearly on the wall for anyone paying attention.
