Just confirming the rumors regarding the Princeton site. The WARN notice is official: 113 employees were hit as of June 16. It’s primarily impacting roles across R&D and operations. For those asking about severance, it seems like the packages are fairly standard for TMO, but that doesn't make the sting any less painful given how long some of these folks have been here. I’ve spoken to a few colleagues who were caught in the crossfire, and the general consensus is that the notice was abrupt, with zero transparency on why these specific departments were targeted. If you’re currently on-site or working remote out of that branch, please reach out to your HR rep immediately if you haven't received your formal paperwork yet. Good luck to everyone currently in the job hunt; the market is rough, but this company isn't the end-all-be-all. Stay focused on your networking and get those resumes updated ASAP.

It is honestly sickening to see this happen again. I have been with Thermo for years, and the constant cycle of restructuring is exhausting. It seems like leadership is obsessed with cutting R&D costs to boost the quarterly numbers, regardless of the institutional knowledge being walked out the door. Sending my best to everyone affected in Princeton; that office definitely had some of our strongest talent. It really makes you wonder who is actually safe in this company anymore.

I have been tracking the WARN notices across the industry, and unfortunately, this is just the latest in a long string of downsizing events. While the severance might be standard, the lack of transparency in how these decisions are handled is incredibly frustrating. It is always a huge loss when operations teams get gutted like this, especially when they are the ones keeping everything running smoothly. Hopefully, those impacted can leverage their experience to find something better quickly, because TMO has clearly lost its sense of loyalty.
