LSI Project Prioritization Shift? Experiencing Slowdowns

Has anyone else in Thermo Fisher's Life Sciences Solutions division noticed a significant shift in project prioritization recently? It feels like a lot of the ambitious growth projects we were kicking off last year have either been put on the back burner or scaled down considerably. Budgets seem tighter, and there's a much stronger emphasis on 'core' business and efficiency. I'm not hearing any direct layoff rumors on the floor, but the energy has definitely changed. There's more 'belt-tightening' talk and less about innovation and expansion. Wondering if this is a strategic pivot or if it's a precursor to something bigger. Anyone else seeing this trend or have any intel on what's driving it? Trying to stay optimistic, but the lack of new initiatives is noticeable.

I've definitely felt that shift too. It seems like the focus has gone from rapid expansion to consolidating and really proving the value of our existing offerings. We're seeing more internal reviews and a lot of emphasis on optimizing current processes rather than launching entirely new ventures. It's understandable given the market, but it does change the day-to-day vibe.

Yeah, the 'core business' push is palpable. Resources that might have been available for innovative, albeit riskier, projects are now being directed towards ensuring the reliability and profitability of what we already do well. It's a pragmatic approach, but I agree, the overall mood feels more cautious and less about unchecked growth than it did a year ago.
