I've seen similar shifts in my department at Thermo Fisher over the past year. Lots of internal reshuffling and a general sense of 'wait and see' which is never a great sign. The budget discussions do feel like they're under a microscope more than usual. It's tough when you feel the ground shifting beneath you, especially without clear communication. Hopefully, it's just a temporary adjustment period, but it's hard not to worry about the long-term implications for the Life Sciences sector within the company.
Funny you mention that. I'm in a different division, but we've had our own share of 'realignments' lately. High-level people leaving and open positions being re-evaluated is definitely a pattern I've noticed across the board, not just in Life Sciences. The market is tough for everyone right now, and I think companies are really tightening their belts. My advice? Focus on what you can control, keep your resume updated, and network internally. It's a good time to be visible and valuable.
